As you seek and find songs on this site, you might be wondering...

"What are these songs, I haven't heard of them."

or...

"Where is Shout To The Lord and Lord I Lift Your Name On High?"

FreePraiseAndWorship is a relatively new website that is putting forth a revolutionary concept.  We have obtained permission from the authors for EVERY song that is offered on this site and though some other websites try to sidestep copyright laws, we will not offer songs unless we have this permission.

Getting permission is an ongoing process.  We've been busily working to find songwriters that have already embraced the concept of free  distribution on the web.   As we gain momentum and as more and more of you use this site, we'll gain the attention of more and more songwriters.

That's right, you can help! As you use this site and you tell other worship leaders and songwriters about it, you help us grow.  As we get more site visitors, we'll get more songs.  For example, if I were to contact a successful author that already distributes their songs through books and CD's and I were to say "consider placing your music on FreePraiseAndWorship where it will be seen by 10 worship leaders.", I might not be taken too seriously.  But, if I said that 5,000 worship leaders would see their song and that they may reach people that wouldn't buy a book and CD but would use their songs and report usage to CCLI, I might get a better response.

By the way, don't pass over these "unknown" songs to quickly. Don't stay in a rut, doing the same songs over and over. Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! (Psalm 96)   Listen to these new songs, you'll find some great stuff and when you do, send the author an encouraging note.  We need to support the authors that are boldly stepping out as pioneers in this new frontier of free praise and worship music.
