At the age of 12, Don Johnson knew that God was calling him to a ministry of music. Through the years God has given him a heart to see God’s people voice their prayers and needs of their hearts, through music. Along with the other band members, Don writes from his own personal experiences with Christ and hopes that the people who hear the new music will become humble and honest before God. As he writes, he keeps in mind Isaiah 29:13-14 “The Lord says, ‘These people come near to me with their mouths and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. Therefore once again I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.’” His heart says that he doesn’t want people to drone through the words of a song. When he speaks of the band he says, “We want to honor God with our hearts. We want to break the rules of man and worship God beyond the intelligence and wisdom of the world. We want to be that astonishment and wonder.”
