Verse 1
And there they were, these shepherds of days gone by,
Tending sheep, and it was late at night.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
The glory of the Lord shone all around them.
They were afraid, but an angel said to them,
"Do not fear, I bring good news and joy!
Oh, on this night you have no need to fear,
For I bring you good news for all the world to hear!"

Chorus
"For today a Savior has been born to you.
He's Christ the Lord!
You'll find a baby wrapped up in swaddling clothes
In a manger and you'll know He's the One!"
And suddenly, a Heavenly Host appeared
In the sky, and they were praising God!
"All glory be to God in Heaven,
And peace and His goodwill to ev'ry person on earth!"

Verse 2
The shepherds said, when all of the angels left,
"Let us go and see this Child of God.
Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing,
This thing that made the angels of the Lord to sing!"
So they did go to Bethlehem that night,
Just to see, and praise the Lamb of God.
Oh, on this night there was no need to fear,
For this was the Good News for all the world to hear.

Chorus
"For today a savior has been born to all.
He's Christ the Lord!"
They found the Baby wrapped up in swaddling clothes
In a manger and they knew He's the one!
The shepherds left and told all that they had seen,
On that night, and they were praising God.
"All glory be to God in Heaven
And peace and His good will to ev'ry person on earth!"
