1      Love is the most excellent way
        Without it we just echo and fade
        Empty and hollow as a drum
        Insubstantial as a shadow in the sun
        Without it there is nothing to be gained 
        For love is the most excellent way.

2      Love is the most excellent way
        A mirror where we see Jesus' face
        Keeping no record of the past
        Always patient and enduring to the last
        And love will always hope and never fail
        For love is the most excellent way.

                   If I did it without love it would mean nothing at all to me...

3      Love is the most excellent way
        Unchanging in a world of decay.
        When words and knowledge all are gone
